This whole situation is probably worth it to me seems like maybe over time they will grow more open to the idea. But then again, maybe not.

I was just hoping for some advice, and thought you might be able to give an answer as a Muslim who converted to it by her own choice. I know several Muslim women but most of them would never dream about going against their father or even brothers. I know you come from a Baptist background. How did your family take it when you converted?

Hmm that's too much I wouldn't convert religions to be with someone. If they can't accept the way I am it's not worth it - but that's the thing, she is fine with it as she isn't exactly strict to her beliefs. Her brothers and father are very unhappy but her mother likes me. I dunno I try not to say anything about the whole male power structure thing... seems kind of wrong for her to feel so pressured to not do what she wants.. but that's not my place.

question if you have the time. i'm into this woman.. she's not really a strict muslim.. but her parents are. i know she wants to be more serious but how serious would it be to her family if she dated a buddhist? her dad wasn't exactly receptive to me the one and only time i met him after she said i'm not a muslim... reason i ask you is because you're a muslim woman. i'm sure you can imagine one day having a daughter.. how would it be if she wanted to be pretty serious with a white buddhist? pretty obscure - sorry
